It will always look different.

Week 12 with Baby Yanez. Here’s what I’m learning:

I’m learning it will likely always look different.

I remember 4 weeks ago when we started using the sleep suit and had one amazing night of sleep and we thought that was the solution. We promptly had 4 nights of inconsistent sleep after that. But we kept using the sleep suit and his sleep got better.

Similarly, Shay had 3 solid weeks of napping for about an hour and a half while we were in the gym working out. In the past 2 weeks, that has happened maybe once.

The lesson I’m taking away from this is that the outcome may continue to differ slightly, but it’s still worth the consistency of action.

What does this have to do with you?

I have conversations with clients constantly that revolve around falling out of a habit they are trying to develop because they don’t feel like it’s working. The reality is that the habit may just take longer to set in and have that positive effect.

So what can you do about it?

Where in your life are you stopping, throwing in the towel, or lacking consistency because when you’ve tried in the past, it “didn’t work” for you?

Where can you start with a small habit that you can do consistently?
