Working with What I’ve Got

Week 26 with Baby Yanez. Here’s what I’m learning:

I’m learning to work with what I’ve got.

I’m currently in the season of: I have 2 days a week for 3-5 hours that Shay is out of the house. In that time period, I am learning how to maximize my productivity, while on the other days I am learning to do whatever I can.

Some days, the “whatever I can” is responding to a couple of emails. Some days it’s starting (or working on) a blog post. The amount of time I have available can swing from 10 minutes to an hour (if we get a solid nap).

In the past, I maybe would have pushed off starting some of these things until I had more time to get in a groove. The problem is that I’d likely be waiting a long time in my current situation.

What does this have to do with you?

Where are you pushing off starting something because the conditions aren’t “right”?

I’m talking a project, the laundry, or even starting a nutrition or fitness plan.

So what can you do about it?

What is the think you’re putting off? Got it? Great. Let’s start by writing it down.

Now I want you to think of the smallest step towards getting it done.

Is it signing up for a free consult call with a coach? Schedule it.

Is it pulling one recipe you want to make for dinner this week? Find it and save it.

Small (consistent) steps make big (compounding) changes in the long run.

1 foot in front of the other. Make do with what you’ve got.
